Marinated Grilling Cheese & Watermelon Stacks with Basil


Makes 6 appetizer portions


1 pkg ROUGETTE® Bon•fire Marinated Grilling Cheese with Herbs

1/4 seedless watermelon, rind removed, cut into 1 inch cubes

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced


  1. Preheat grill to medium low heat.

  2. Remove cheese from wrapping and place in Grilling Cheese pan and then on preheated grill.

  3. Close lid and grill over medium low heat for 5 minutes. Carefully turn both cheese portions and grill for 4 more minutes.

  4. When cheese is hot but still solid, remove pan from grill and allow to rest for 2 minutes.

  5. Once cheese is cool enough to handle, remove both portions from pan and dice into 1 inch cubes.

  6. Use a toothpick to skewer a watermelon cube, then a cube of cheese, and then another cube of watermelon. Place the skewers on serving platter, top with a sprinkle of fresh basil. Serve immediately.
